Pathogensis Staphylococcus aurous

Pathogensis Staphylococcus aurous

Catalase test:

Hydrogen peroxide break down to form oxygen (O2)and water (H2O) with the help of catalase ,when an organism come into contact with hydrogen peroxide and release bubble of oxygen that indicates the indicates the organism is catalase producer.

H2O2 + Bacteria    Catalase    H2O+O2
Requirements:
1.Test tube
2.H2O2-3%
3.Glass rod

Procedure:

    1.Take 3ml of H2O2 solution in a test tube
2.Using a glass rod, remove several colonies of test organisms.
3.Then immerse the colonies into H2O2 solution .
    4.Look for immediate bubbling.

Result:

    1.Active bubbling-------------→Catalase positive.
    2.No bubbling-------------→Catalase negative

Pathogen:

Catalase positive: Staphylococcus aurous.
